Summer Mountaineering

Scotland’s mountains vary geologically enormously and as a result in rock nature, character and vegetation.  Mountaineering involves ascending by more technical and challenging routes and dealing with variable conditions.

Buachaille Etive Mor

Classics include Curved Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mor, the Aonach Eagach Ridge and Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis – that’s just in Glencoe and Lochaber!

To get the most from mountaineering you will have summer walking experience and we will use basic rock climbing and rope skills to ascend safely.  Perhaps you want to climb some of Scotland’s classic ridThe Cuillin Ridge, Skyeges or learn new skills and gain some mountaineering independence.  Topics  will include selecting appropriate routes, suitable equipment, approaching scrambles and ridges safely, basic rope work, belaying and abseiling.  Moving on we can look at decision making, moving together and escaping!

We can offer options from instruction, coaching through to guiding.  Venues will depend on preferences and weather but can include Glencoe, Lochaber and the Cairngorms working with up to two clients.  Check out prices here.
